4-D Ultrasound
Carolina Women’s Physicians now has cutting edge technology
available for you and your baby. The ability to capture a 3-D picture
of your child with real time movement is called a 4-D ultrasound.
The
4-D ultrasound only takes 15-25 minutes to complete. The procedure does not
use radiation or any other agents that may be harmful to you or your baby.
This
ultrasound is not usually prescribed for medical purposes and does not take
the place of a physician’s diagnostic ultrasound. The best time to perform
the procedure is between 24 and 32 weeks. Unfortunately, insurance does not
cover the cost of the 4-D ultrasound at this time, because the procedure
is not considered a diagnostic test. |
